Picture: realestate.com.auUsing this method the very small, exclusive street in Ascot, with only 16 homes, came out tops. But it wasn’t the only one to shine. Beautiful Laurel Ave in Chelmer, which came in second spot, actually achieved more votes in the number one spot than Sutherland Ave.These two were closely followed by Virginia Ave in Hawthorne.Top street picks ranged from inner city Teneriffe to acreage enclaves in Bridgeman Downs.Ray White Ascot, principal Dwight Ferguson rated Sutherland Ave the best for a number of reasons.‘This street is simply stunning in all seasons but particularly spring through to autumn,’’ he said.“It is more a tree-lined promenade boasting classic heritage homes all positioned on very large parcels of land. The owners of these houses are all very house proud and present their properties accordingly.“Very rarely do homes come on the market in this street but when they do they are very sought after. This by far is my favourite street.’’127 Laurel Ave, Chelmer. Picture: realestate.com.auRenowned fashion designer Keri Craig-Lee and her husband Trevor, a leading Queensland business man, have lived there for many years.Ms Craig-Lee loves the street so much she dedicated a number of pages to her home in her newly released book, The Label, The Lady, The Lifestyle.Homes were not often offered for sale in Sutherland Ave, with CoreLogic data revealing some of the properties had been held by the same owners for more than 40 years. The top sale in the suburb was in 2014, when a house changed hands for $10.2 million.Principal of Adcock Prestige, Jason Adcock, put Laurel Ave as his number one pick because it was a beautiful tree-lined street with century old camphor laurel trees on both sides.“It has lovely restored turn-of-the-century grand Queenslanders on large manicured blocks and some homes have absolute riverfront frontage with tennis courts and pontoons.’’Mr Adcock said the demographic of the street was a mix of younger professionals and CEOs with some of the leading lights in the Queensland business world living there. The highest sale price achieved in Laurel Ave was $6 million in 2010.Victoria and Paul O’Neill have lived in Laurel Ave, for 22 years and have listed theirriverfront home for sale.Picture: AAP/ Ric Frearson.Paul and Victoria O’Neill have lived at 127 Laurel Ave for 22 years.
