I know the players and coaches miss him when he’s not here with us, but he’s with us in spirit. He’s done a great job of helping us get to this point and he knows that.”Rath became a viral sensation when NFL Network shared a video of compilation of clips that showed Rath repeatedly pulling McVay out of the way of the referees walking on the sideline.  Related News Rath is expected to make a full recovery. In the meantime, assistant strength and conditioning coach Dustin Woods will fill Rath’s role. “Dustin will be my backup get-back guy, so he’ll be pulling me back,” McVay said of Woods. “And hopefully, I have a little bit more self-control.” Rams coach Sean McVay will be without one key member of his staff as Los Angeles takes the field against the Patriots in Super Bowl 53 on Sunday. Ted Rath is the Rams’ director of strength training and performance who also is known as McVay’s personal sideline spotter or “get-back” coach.
