Aaron Fair and Andrew Pelkey are back. Andrew PelkeyWellington has never sported a more healthy lineup this season than it did Thursday night.“I think this is the first time I have had a full lineup with no injuries,” said Mitch McComb, Wellington head wrestling coach. “I didn’t have anyone wrestle at 285 pounds, but that was only because I wasn’t going to have my heavyweight freshman go up against Austin King – the third ranked wrestler in the state.”Wellington appears to be peaking and getting well at the right time. The Class 4A Regional will be wrestled next week in Pratt starting Friday.Aaron FairBoth seniors Aaron Fair and Andrew Pelkey were wrestling for the first time on the same night this season. Both have been fighting knee injuries, but have recently received clearance from their doctors.Pelkey actually wrestled the week before in the Rose Hill Tournament where he finished third.“He looked really good in Rose Hill,” McComb said. “There are two kind of shapes in wrestling. There is physical shape and then there is mat shape. Pelkey still needs to get into mat shape because he hasn’t wrestled very long. But he is definitely in physical shape – probably better than he was in last year’s state tournament.”Pelkey would dominate Daniel Moore with a 16-2 victory at 152.Fair was also dominating in his victory Thursday getting a pin quickly. McComb said he will not wrestle Fair Saturday as there is no advantage for him to do so. Udall62134 WLWL Central3479 Clearwater05213 Douglass41133 CV-Dexter3487 Close Forgot password?
