Former Chelsea and Arsenal man eyeing Napoli switch

first_img1 Former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Lassana Diarra is keen to leave Lokomotiv Moscow and has his heart set on a move to Napoli, according to sources in Italy.Diarra, 29, has been plying his trade in Russia since joining Anzhi Makhachkala in 2012 and he now wants to head back west, with Italy his preferred destination.Napoli boss Rafa Benitez wants to add a defensive midfielder to his ranks – he has been linked with the likes of Tottenham’s Sandro and Lyon man Maxime Gonalons – and he could now consider a move for Diarra. However, the Lokomotiv anchorman, who has been capped 28 times for France, is reportedly seeking a £4m-a-season deal – and that could potentially scupper his hopes of securing a transfer to Napoli.Diarra joined Chelsea from Le Havre in 2005 but failed to make much of an impact at Stamford Bridge. He moved to Arsenal in 2007 before being sold on to Portsmouth, where he won the FA Cup, before earning himself a surprise switch to Real Madrid. Lassana Diarra [left] last_img
