Adults should lead on showing respect

first_imgCategories: Letters to the Editor, Opinion Recently I saw on the news that First Lady Melania Trump is supporting a campaign against the bullying that exists today with our nation’s youth. Our young people learn from what the adults of our country deem as acceptable conduct on social and national media. Mrs. Trump should start at the dinner table with our commander-in-chief. This is a person who describes people, such as James Comey, as the “untruthable slimeball.” He’s also referred to Ted Cruz as “Lying Ted,” North Korean leader Kim Jong-un as“Rocketman,” Hillary Clinton as “Crooked Hillary,” and too  many others to name. That type of conduct is definitely not what we should be teaching our youth.Treating people with dignity and respect starts with adults teaching those values and conduct to the youth of today.Ken JonesBallston SpaMore from The Daily Gazette:Guilderland girls’ soccer team hands BH-BL first league lossEDITORIAL: Beware of voter intimidationFoss: Should main downtown branch of the Schenectady County Public Library reopen?EDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristsEDITORIAL: Find a way to get family members into nursing homeslast_img
