Kalibo vendors back to old market posts

A special ordinance from theSangguniang Panlalawigan of Aklan has allowed the affected stakeholders to usethe portion of the provincial road (Toting Reyes Street) from Roxas AvenueExtension to Fortunato Quimpo Street as temporary shelter for three months. Engr. Jesse Fegarido, head of theMunicipal Economic Enterprise and Development Office, said the stakeholderswill be accommodated in the middle portion of the public market here.     Two days after the fire, it was“business as usual” as vendors brought in items to sell to their loyalcustomers. The fire on Sept. 15 destroyed over300 stalls, leaving millions of merchandise in ashes, the Bureau of FireProtection said.       The Kalibo market vendors, who were affected by the fire last Sept. 15, are heading back to their old location, according to the municipal government.
